Hello! My name is Shane Knopp and I'm from Florida. I committed to Colgate not knowing what to expect from my four years here; I thought the campus was pretty, the people were nice, and was excited to experience my first winter. I never would have thought I'd be a Computer Science major with minors in Economics and Geology, nevertheless be the treasurer of the ski club or running for your student body president! That's one of the things that's so special about Colgate though. It opens up possibilities and defines who you will become as a person.

After the initial Colgate fever during my first year, I came to recognize some of it's issues and felt as though it was my responsibility to implement change. I decided to join SGA in the capacity as a Sustainability Representative, then Parliamentarian, but I need to do more.

Outside of SGA I'm actively involved in Student Activities Association & the Class Council, Colgate Ski and Snowboard Club, the Dining Advisory Committee, and occasionally Cheese Club (even though I'm allergic to milk!). My involvement has prepared me perfectly for this role.
